Need laundry
help?

Affordable laundry for Springfield neighbors in need. And $12.50 lets you pay a load forward.

Groceries or clean clothes. Too many neighbors have to choose.

It's a choice families in our city face every week, and it's about far more than laundry.

For a child at school, clean clothes can mean the difference between confidence and embarrassment. For someone looking for work, they can be the line between hope and despair. Clean sheets mean a restful night, a comfort most of us never think twice about.

Clean Slate Advocates takes that choice off the table, one load at a time.

    It started at the laundromat.

Long before Clean Slate Advocates had a name, All In One Laundry Center on South Grand Avenue East was where people with nowhere else to turn came for clean clothes.

When storms knocked out power across Springfield in the summer of 2023, the laundry teamed up with Springfield Clinic to wash for more than 700 families. That September, Executive Director Robert Frazier made the work official, founding Clean Slate Advocates and launching the From Soap To Hope Challenge.

Robert and Pamela Frazier received the 2022 Springfield ICON Good Neighbor Award for the laundry's community outreach.

In 2026, the Illinois Department of Transportation honored them with the Roberto Orozco Memorial Award.

It's not about why, or what happened. It's about how we can help.
